Adrienne Goppold – Eat @ The Pearl – Hotel Manager

Biography of Adrienne Goppold:

I never pictured myself in the hospitality industry when I was growing up but soon found myself so in love with the people, food, wine, beer, and cocktails that I knew I was in it for life. My first job in a brewery hooked me on the fun atmosphere and lifestyle of getting to eat, laugh, and drink for a living. What better way to live! Growing up in North Carolina close to family inspired me with mix of influences. My grandfather was a German butcher and worked his whole life making sausage and salami from scratch. My grandmother grew all the vegetables for the family in her own sustainable mega garden. My mother always knew how to cook a delicious from scrach southern meal straight from the garden. My father's life long passion and profession for architecture led me to follow in his footsteps and earn a degree in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech. While in Atlanta, I gained a strong background in sustainability and design practices, while growing a deep respect for southern cuisine and farmhouse cooking. I've worked in just about every kind of restaurant you could imagine and I am fortunate to have worked for some great mentors and celebrity chefs. I moved to Southern California in 2008 to enjoy the beautiful weather and further my interests in the culinary world. I love just about everything but if I had to pick a few foods to live off of, you can be sure that cheeseburgers, craft cheese, sushi, great wine, absinthe, and coffee would be on the list. Some of my favorite and most challenging jobs have been the Globe, Iris Restaurant, Re'Past, Kensington Grill, the Linkery, Whisknladle, & Prepkitchen. In addition to over 12 years experience for many different restaurants, I have a love that just won't die of wine and wine education, craft cocktails, craft beer, and local sustainable food. In fact, I am either working or dining out most of the time, so you might see me out on the town! All of these background factors make working at the Pearl an amazing fit. I'm very excited to be here and hope to see you dining with us soon! Make sure you say hello.
